Time to Start Growing

After weeks of digging and weed removal it's

time to start planting. Firestorm runner beans and Lark sweetcorn. It feels fantastic to finally see something growing other than weeds.

At the time of planting the soil was very dry and I decided to incorporate several bags of manure below the surface to encourage the roots down and to retain moisture.

The corn and beans appear happy in their beds which I am now beginnng to edge with 150mm x 22mm timber. The decision to edge the beds was made purely because I wanted to incorporate woodchip paths, I find it aesthetically pleasing and it's delivered free.
